Oční tkáňová banka Praha Vinohrady, z.ú. (also caled: EYE BANK PRAGUE), Registation/Authorisation NO: 067 18 108 is a newly created non-governmental, non-profit organization, built on solid foundations and long-term professional experience of its employees. The tissue establishment was in compliance with the provision of § 18 of Act No. 296/2008 Coll. on the Quality and Safety of Human Tissues and Cells for Human Use and on Amendments to Related Acts (Human Tissues and Cells Act), as amended by the State Institute for Drug Control on July 9, 2018, authorized activities in the scope of retrieval, processing, evaluation, preservation, releasing and distributing human eye tissues (cornea, lamella, sclera, eyeball only for further processing) for transplant surgery.
The Institute proceeds in accordance with the legal regulations governing the provision of health care and services and the procedures according to the relevant provisions of the Civil Code in the sense of Act No. 285/2002 Coll., As amended by Act No. 44/2013 Coll. (Transplantation Act), on the donation of tissue and organ transplants and transplants and on the amendment of some laws, Decree 115/2013 Coll. o Specialized competence of medical professionals conducting an examination confirming the death irreversibility for the purpose of collectionÿ f ቐɄssues or organs intended for transplantation by Decree No. 372/2017 Coll., on the details of the scope and content of the mandatory data to the National Registry of Persons Disagreeing with the Postponing of Tissue and Act No. 296/2008 Coll., on the Quality Assurance and Safety of Human Tissues for Cells for Human Use and on Amendments to Related Acts (hereinafter "the Act") and Decree No. 422/2008 Coll.to ensure the quality and safety of human tissues and cells for human use.

PKP CORNEA / HYPOTHERMIC STORAGE
Description: 17mm diameter corneoscleral graft with a 3mm scleral rim, obtained from donors according to the criteria of Czech legislation and in accordance with the standards of the European Eye Bank Association. Tissue is placed in a storage medium, examined by slit lamp and specular microscopy, provided with a unique code (SINGLE EUROPEAN CODE/ISBT 128), serologically and CJD tested with negative result, suitable for full thickness transplantation. |
SCLERA WHOLE GRAFT IN ETHANOL
Description: The graft consists of the entire human sclera, stored in ethanol. Sclera is obtained from donors according to the criteria of Czech legislation and in accordance with the standards of the European of the Eye Bank Association. After collection, it is cleared of other contents (vitreous, iris, choridea and retinal tissue and adnexa, muscle residues, conjunctiva), completely placed in an antibiotic, bath, dried and placed in a sterile primary container with 50 ml of absolute ethanol utilized for scleral patches, eyelid surgery or for reconstructive implantation, provided with a unique code (SINGLE EUROPEAN CODE/ISBT 128), serologically and CJD tested with negative result. Expiration 1 year from the time of preparation. |
SCLERA HALF GRAFT IN ETHANOL
Description: The graft is made up of half human sclera (Half shaped) The graft consists of the half shaped human sclera, stored in ethanol. Sclera is obtained from donors according to the criteria of Czech legislation and in accordance with the standards of the European of the Eye Bank Association. DSEAK LAMELLAE (CORNEA|Anterior and posterior layers|Hypothermic storage|Microkeratome)
Description: Corneoscleral tissue pre-cut with a microkeratome - semiautomatic method, graft consists of cornea with scleral rim, front layers is cut off and tilted back to protects back thin lamella formed by endothelium, Descemet membrane and portion of stromal layer. Tissue is placed in a storage medium, examined by slit lamp, specular microscopy and OCT, provided with a unique code (SINGLE EUROPEAN CODE/ISBT 128), serologically and CJD tested with negative result, utilized for endothelial lamellar keratoplasty surgery. |

DMEK graft is placed in a cornea viewing chamber containing medium, examined by slit lamp, specular microscopy and OCT, provided with a unique code (SINGLE EUROPEAN CODE/ISBT 128), serologically and CJD tested with negative result, utilized for endothelial keratoplasty. |

According to the Act (No. 285/2002 Coll. On donation, collection and transplantation of tissues) the principle of presumed consen anyone can become a potential organ and tissue donor after death. Exceptions are those who have expressed unambiguous written disagreement with donation during their lifetime. The National Register of Persons Disagreeing with Post-mortem Tissue and Organ Collection (NROD)is administered by the Institute of Health Information of the Czech Republic. The disagreement must contain some essential elements and data provided by law. To form a disagreement, a simple form was created that includes: data on a person disagreeing with postmortem collection of tissues and organs data on the extent of disagreement, possible subsequent cancellation of previously expressed disagreement data on a potential legal representative (in the case of "non-legal persons" ) place, date, time and signature of the disagreeing person.
